Spring Break

This year, due to Anna's baptism, we stayed here for the first half of Spring Break, then we headed to California mid week.
Monday, we had a barbeque at the park with a couple of other families.

The boys barbequed.

The girls brought yummy side dishes.

The kids played and played and played with not one altercation. WOW!

Thanks to the Dillards and Mechams for spending time with us.

Wednesday we headed to L.A.

We saw this when we stopped for gas.

Here we are in Palm Desert getting some dinner.I love capturing them from behind.

Thursday was our time with Grandpa Webber at the dentist office. We all had cleanings and there were many cavities to fill. It was so stressful that I didn't even take any pictures.

Friday we went to Universal Studios.
I love this place. I have always been fascinated by the movies.

One of the statues behind them is a real person.

We see lots of different characters.

We have fun taking the tour of the lot.

Remember Psycho?

The following shots are of the set of the plane crash in War of the Worlds.

There is a new Simpsons ride. Orson and the four kids went on it. They said it is like Star Tours at Disneyland, only worse. Poor Orson and Katie. Their stomachs don't enjoy these kind of rides.
Down on the lower lot are the two best rides. These are the four escaltors that take you down.
Jurrassic Park is the water ride and it has a really steep hill at the end.

Anna did not appreciate the steepness.

My favorite is The Mummy. It is an indoor roller coaster and it's pretty good. When you get to the end, they take you backwards. Awesome.

We ended the day by going to the City Walk and having dinner at Tony Romas. I was so hungry I didn't take a picture.

I have never been to Universal Studios. Looks like it needs to be high in the list next time we go to Cali...

I envy all the sunshine and short sleeves. We've never taken the kids to Universal-we'll need to plan to take all the cousins together some time. How's your summer looking? Busy, I' know.

It's been so long since I've been to Universal Studios. It's changed so much! Looks like a blast!

What fun! We just went there for New Years and your pic's make me want to go back! I'm glad you got something fun in besides the dentist:). I loved the Mummy ride the best too...I wanted to ride it over and over but the line was too big!
