Winter Formal

Nathan went to winter formal with Karli West. We have known Karli since she was on the gymastic team with Katie and Rachael about 5 years ago. She is so fun. Then, when Nathan started Poston, they had about 4 classes together and became great friends.

They couldn't get away from me and my camera fast enough.
After the dance and group of 16 kids went to the gym where Nathan takes gymnastics and had a blast playing on all of the equipments. Two weeks ago, they had a day activity where they hiked up Usery Pass and had a bonfire and played games. What a life these kids lead!

And baby makes 3

Well, we now officially have THREE teenagers in our home. Rachael was born in Walnut Creek, CA at the same hospital as Katie. She came out with only one push (thankfully because my epidural only took on one side)

Here she is at age 8 in her baptism dress.

Here she is with her roommate,Katie during achievement day.

Rachael was my only child to get blue eyes. Boy are they beautiful.

She spent 7 years of her life in gymnastics.

Her favorite pasttime is singing and here, she and Brooke Connelly sang "For Good" from the Wicked musical, in the Highland talent show. This year she sang the National Anthem at the Poston talent show, and I can't find a picture. I think I only have it on video. Maybe one day I'll figure out how to put that on here, but that day is not toady.

Here she is today, a brand new 13 year old. Let's leave her some well wishes on this fun new stage of her life.
Happy Birthday Rach!!!!!

Flairs Invitational

Nathan spent about 5 years doing gymnastics. Last year we (I) needed a break. So, we took the year off. Last summer, when he turned 16, and got his license, he wanted to go back. So, he started working at the gym to help pay for it. His cleaning job soon turned into a coaching position. Then he took on piano and violin students as well. He is so dedicated. He trains every day from 4-7. Friday night he had his first meet of the season. It was hosted by our gym. He competed as a level 9. I had not seen him since he had been back and it was so fun to watch. He walked away with 4 bronze medals; one for rings, high bar, parallel bars and all around. We are so proud of him. This picture is with his buddy Heath McCarry

I Believe

I have had too much craziness to be able to post. So, I thought I would share this that I found on my friend Melia's blog. Thanks for sharing!

A Birth Certificate shows that we were born
A Death Certificate shows that we died
Pictures show that we lived!
Have a seat . . . Relax . . . And read this slowly.

I Believe...
That just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each other.
And just because they don't argue,
it doesn't mean they do love each other.

I Believe...
That we don't have to change friends if
we understand that friends change.

I Believe...
That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt
you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I Believe...
That true friendship continues to grow, even over
the longest distance. Same goes for true love.

I Believe...
That you can do something in an instant
that will give you heartache for life.

I Believe...
That it's taking me a long time
to become the person I want to be.

I Believe...
That you should always leave loved ones with
loving words... It may be the last time you see them.

I Believe...
That you can keep going long after you think you can't.

I Believe...
That we are responsible for what
we do, no matter how we feel.

I Believe...
That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I Believe...
That heroes are the people who do what has to be done
when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

I Believe...
That money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I Believe...
That my best friend and I, can do anything, or nothing and have the best time.

I Believe...
That sometimes the people you expect to kick you
when you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.

I Believe...
That sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry,
but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I Believe...
That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had
and what you've learned from them and less to do
with how many birthdays you've celebrated.

I Believe...
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I Believe...
That no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I Believe...
That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are,
but, we are responsible for who we become.

I Believe...
That you shouldn't be so eager to find
out a secret... It could change your life Forever.

I Believe...
Two people can look at the exact same
thing and see something totally different.

I Believe...
That your life can be changed in a matter of
hours by people who don't even know you.

I Believe...
That even when you think you have no more to give, when
a friend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.

I Believe...
That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

I Believe...
That the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.

'The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
they just make the most of everything.'
(this was not written by me, However I do believe them all to be true!)
So Share with me some of the things you believe

Happy New Year

Best wishes to all my friends. May this year be filled with love and gratitude. That is what I feel for each of you. I am determined to catch up on 4 months of missed posts. There will be several each day. However, we are still celebrating over here. Today is the big Holt party at our house and tomorrow we head to Blythe for the annual hot dog roast on the farm with Grandpa Holt who is almost 95. So, watch for new posts starting next week. I am working on my health this year. If you want to follow my journey, you can check out my other blog. What are you looking forward to this year?
